Director of Training

Dr. Annette M. Haines is the Director of Training for the Montessori Training Center of St. Louis. Dr. Haines is an internationally recognized lecturer, examiner, and trainer of the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI).  She has been involved in the field of Montessori education since 1972 and has extensive background in the Children's House classroom. 

Dr. Haines holds both AMI Primary and Elementary Diplomas. Additionally, she has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Washington University, a Masters Degree in Education from Cleveland State University, and a Doctorate in Education from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville with research focused on concentration and normalization within the Montessori Prepared Environment.

She is currently Chairperson of the AMI Scientific Pedagogical Committee, a member of the Board of Directors and currently on the Executive Committee of the AMI.  Annette's articles have been published in the AMI Communications, the NAMTA Journal, and Montessori Talks to Parents.
